History[]

Tokyo Arc[]

When Kenshin arrives at Tokyo, meets Kaoru and is invited to stay at the Kamiya Dōjō, Suzume meets Kenshin alongside Ayame and Gensai. Both sisters take an instant liking to Kenshin, and they usually ask Kenshin to play with them. They are also usually seen going with the rest of the Kenshingumi to the Akabeko to eat traditional food like Gyūnabe.

When Sagara Sanosuke is hired by Hiruma Gohei to fight Kenshin, Sanosuke initially goes to the Kamiya Dōjō at evening to challenge Kenshin. But before they can start the fight, Ayame and Suzume appear. That stops Sanosuke who says he does not want to fight in the presence of children, and he retreats.

Some time later, the Kenshingumi go to the region of Izu on vacation to visit Oguni Hana, Gensai's sister. Ayame and Suzume enjoy their stay at Izu with activities like going to the hot springs, to fishing, and eating food.

Kyōto Arc[]

At the beginning of the spring, when Kenshin starts having memories from the past, Ayame and Suzume try to cheer up Kenshin on their way to the Akabeko, and ask him to go to watch the fireflies at night.

After Kenshin leaves Tokyo to go to Kyōto to fight Shishio, Ayame and Suzume are crying inconsolable because they miss Kenshin. Although Gensai tries to make them feel better, they still keep crying for days. When Kaoru and Yahiko finally decide to go to Kyōto to follow Kenshin, Ayame and Suzume (alongside Gensai and Megumi) bid them farewell.

And after Kenshin, Kaoru, Yahiko and Sanosuke return to Tokyo after the fight with the Juppongatana, Ayame and Suzume (alongside Gensai and Megumi) greet them back home.

Trivia[]
