Tsuruzaemon is an adjutant of Shinko-ryū under the command of Isurugi Raijūta.
Appearance[]
Tsuruzaemon is a large man with short black hair, small triangle eyebrows, a mustache, a large nose, big lips, and wrinkles in between his eyes.
Tsuruzaemon wears a straw hat with diamond shaped holes to see through, a dark colored haori over a white shirt with a vertical line trim, white pants, white socks, and sandals.
Personality[]
Tsuruzaemon is a loyal member of the Shinko-ryū, and is willing followed Raijūta's order to try to get Kenshin to join them or to kill him if they fail.

- Isurugi Raijūta: Tsuruzaemon is loyal to Raijūta, and willing to follow Raijūta's orders to attack Kenshin.

Tsuruzaemon is a trained spearman, but was no match for Kenshin, even when it was four on one.
History[]
Tokyo Arc[]
Tsuruzaemon is one of the four warriors dispatched to attack Himura Kenshin at the Kamiya Dōjō with an ultimatum: join them or die. The four quickly enter the Dōjō and surround Kenshin. When Kenshin declines to join them and manages to dodge Tsukio and Kiriji's attack, Tsuruzaemon attacks with his spear but Kenshin uses the spear to guide himself down and knock Tsuruzaemon out.
1996 Anime[]
In the 1996 anime, Tsuruzaemon's story is different: He gets introduced by Raijūta yo Tsukayama Yutarō, and later attacks Kenshin at night in a cliff next to the ocean (alongside the other 3 followers of the Shinko-ryū), but he loses.
Later in the middle of the fight of the Shinko-ryū followers and the police, Tsuruzaemonis shot several times and dies.
