The Su Shen, meaning Four Stars (四星) and Four Gods (四神) are the 4 quadruplet personal body guards of Shanghai Mafia Boss Woo Heishin. Each of them are extremely skilled and engage Kenshin's allies in battle on Yukishiro Enishi's island, purposely choosing weapons that closely match those of their opponents, with Seiryū facing Saitō Hajime, Suzaku facing Shinomori Aoshi, Byakko facing Sagara Sanosuke and Genbu facing Myōjin Yahiko.
They all prove to be powerful opponents, but end up losing each of their battles to Heishin's complete surprise and utter dissappointment.
