Jinchu is the one hundred fifty-fifth chapter of the Rurouni Kenshin manga.

Synopsis[]

The fire bell is rung as Kenshin, Kaoru, Yahiko, Tae, and Tsubame enter town. The situation doesn't seem to be that much of a problem for Kenshin and the others, but when the police arrive in town, they are hit with disturbing news. Chief Uramura rushes up to the group and shouts that the Akabeko was hit by a cannon from Mount Ueno. Quickly, Kenshin, Sanosuke, and Yahiko take off to the scene.

While Kaoru, Tae, and Tsubame head off to see the ruined Akabeko, Yahiko is left trailing behind Kenshin and Sanosuke, who are just too fast for him. At Mount Ueno, the silver-haired figure and the one-armed man are gone. All that's left is a destroyed sacred tree, which Kujiranami smashed into from the cannon's recoil, with deep footprints embedded in the ground before it and a note reading "Jinchuu". There's not enough evidence left for the police, so they leave after a little while. Kenshin, on the other hand, knows the true interpretation of the note as "if the heavens do not punish one, man will take it into his own hands". With that understanding, Kenshin realizes the judgment for his sins as the Hitokiri Battousai is soon to be at hand.

At a Yokohama mansion Gein rented as their headquarters, there rests him, the silver-haired figure, and Kujiranami. Kujiranami still seems a bit suspicious around the silver-haired figure, who still won't introduce himself, but the silver-haired figure claims he'll explain everything when everyone arrives. Shortly after his words, two more enter the headquarters.
